And Baby Makes Four! Meet The Newest Addition To My Family!

Emma Joy

Wondering why the blog was a little quiet in the month of July?

Meet Emma Joy, the newest addition to our little family!  She arrived on Tuesday, July 16th, almost 2 weeks past her due date.  She weighed a healthy 10lbs 3oz and was 20 inches long.  Charlotte, our two-year-old has been adjusting really well, surprisingly, and loves holding Baby Emma.  I’m recovering well and just now starting to come out of the “newborn fog.”

A friend of mine gifted me birth photos, and I’m so grateful!  We didn’t have them when Charlotte was born, and I regret not having those professional pictures of her in those first hours of her life.  They change so quickly!  And I love having photos of me in labor.  I know, it sounds weird, but since I ended up with a C-section (again), I like being able to look at the photos of me in labor and know that I tried my hardest to do a VBAC.  It is very healing for me to have those photos…but I’m not sharing those with you all! 🙂

Anyway, here are a few of my favorite photos (post-birth) by Kinsey Meredith Photography.  And if you are local (Seattle/Eastside area), check out her website and Facebook page!

Thank you so much for the gift of these photos, Kinsey!  I’m so incredibly grateful!  What a blessing you have given me!

And I have to say, if you are local, pregnant and looking for a doula, I HIGHLY recommend Paula Popp at Puget Sound Doula Care!  I could not have labored without her!  She was so supportive and knew exactly what I needed before I even knew myself!  Such a blessing to me and my husband!  If you want to find out more about Paula, check out her profile on DoulaMatch.net!
