Candy-Free Easter Basket Ideas + $25 Amazon Card Giveaway!

Before I get to the Easter basket ideas, let me just say that Thrifty Family Finds is 1 year old!  Yay!  I know that when I started TFF a year ago, I really had no idea if anyone would even read it and to see where it’s at now, I’m amazed!  I’m so grateful to all you who read my posts and interact with me through TFF.  This past year has included so many special memories for me personally – like the birth of our second, Emma, and subsequently, a little less time for me to devote to blogging.  But you were patient and stuck with me!  Thank you! To celebrate Thrifty Family Finds’ 1 Year Blogiversary, I’m doing 4 Days of Giveaways!  These giveaways are a few of my favorite things, and I’m so excited to share them!  Starting today (Tuesday), I’ll post a new giveaway that you can enter.   Don’t worry, each giveaway will be open for entrants for four days, so there will be plenty of time to enter each one! All of the giveaways are now live!  If you didn’t see the other three giveaways, don’t worry, you can still enter by visiting their original posts: DIY Hair Tie Tutorial + Win A Set Of Hair Ties & An Etsy Gift Card through Sunday night, March 30th.Win A $50 Gift Card To Dear Olympia Furniture Revivals through Tuesday night, April 1st. Candy-Free Easter Basket Ideas

Back in February, I wrote a post called Candy-Free Valentine’s Gift Ideas For Kids and it was a huge hit.  I’m really trying to cut back on my daughter’s sugar intake, but still wanted to give her a basket of small presents for Valentine’s Day, like my mom did for me as a child.  With Easter coming up, I thought it might be fun to do a Candy-Free Easter Basket post.

Here’s what’s inside my 2.5 year old’s Easter Basket this year:

Easter Book

I chose The Berenstain Bears and the Easter Story for Charlotte.  I love the Berenstain Bears books and I wanted to give her a book that wasn’t focused on candy and the Easter bunny.  It was $2.76 shipped, and as a bonus, it came with stickers!

Melissa & Doug Binoculars

Charlotte loves nature, birds and bugs ever since she started watching Rachel and the Treeschoolers episodes (I highly recommend them! – Charlotte is 2.5 and walks around singing about photosynthesis!).  So when I found these Melissa & Doug Bixie Butterfly Binoculars, I thought they’d be perfect for her outdoor exploring.  If these are too girly, don’t worry, they have these Happy Giddy Binoculars

that are more neutral in color.

Slippers

I just happened to find these brand new bunny slippers in the right size on ThredUP a couple months ago and knew they’d be perfect for her Easter Basket, so I snatched them up.  You could do any slippers or even socks!

Bumble Bee Bath Mitt

Charlotte still loves bath time so much, so I found this Bumble Bee Bath Mitt

for a little bath time treat!  It goes along with the next item 🙂

HonestBubbleBath-2

Bubble Bath

We love the Honest Company Bubble Bath, but you could use your favorite brand.  Or you could do other bath items, like bath crayons or toys, or a special hooded towel.

Other Candy-Free Ideas:

– Experiences, like a trip to the zoo or children’s museum

– Coloring books, crayons or other art supplies

– Stickers! 🙂

– Toy cars, trucks, airplanes, etc.

Congratulations to Shari D. for winning the $25 Amazon Gift Card!  I’ve sent you an email with details on claiming your prizes!  Thank you to everyone who participated!
